Babasaheb Chitale Mahavidyalay. is a unit of Bhilawadi Shikshan Sanshta. Bhilawadi Shikshan Sanshta was established in 1949 by Shri. Bhujangrao Patil and his followers.

Bhilawadi Shikshan Sanstha provides education to the rural masses especially deprived rural students. In the year 1995 Bhilawadi Shikshan Sanstha stared Bababsaheb Chitale Mahavidyalay for especially deprived girl students. The college is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. As compared to male students the percentage of girl students is 60 to 65 % from the establishment of college. This academic year also we have the same ratio. No doubt our college is very small, working in very remote area but our performance is very good in academics, sports and cultural activities. From last 20+ yrs our students have been selection in sports (especially in Volley Ball) team of Shivaji University, Kolhapur and also in Inter University Team.

Bhilawadi Shikshan Sanstha started science college in the academic year 2015-16. This branch is permanently on non grant basis. Already 2 batches completed their degree. This unit is having good future. Our unit is making progress with the help of Bhilawadi Shikshan Sansths and all teaching and non teaching staff. We are working under the guidance of sanstha and C D C. we also accept suggestions from stakeholders.

In 2018-19 and 2019-20 our college suffered from flood. The water level was reached to 10+ feets to college Building. The college was under flood water for a week or more. But with the great support of Bhilawadi Shikshan Sanstha, Chairman Shir. Vishwas P. Chitale, Vice-Chairman Dr. Balasaheb Chopade a renouned doctor in Sangli. We return back in our routine.
